Tie-red

"Tie-red"...That's how Brenda Pickle pronounced tired when she was first starting to read. Now, at age nine, she has the reading level of a college student and apparently reads 400-page books in two days (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, anyone?).
But that's beside the point.
I survived a high school field trip yesterday, and now I'm tired. But I only have five days left with my students in the classroom. I'm tempted to use this weekend to make cupcakes just for fun or to start a craft project or to clean my room, but I think I'll take a nap instead. Then I'll hit my school stuff hard for part of this afternoon and tomorrow, sprint through the next five days, and finish on Friday with exactly fifty-six essays to grade.
But I'll have made it! I'll have survived! I will not leave the school wearing a straitjacket, escorted by men in white coats. I have not done the best I could, especially in the area of classroom discipline, but I'll have survived and hopefully my students learned something.
But first, a nap.
