Well, I'm gearing up for another trip up north. Yes, another friend is getting married this weekend. Actually, I know a few people getting married this weekend, but I was only invited to one wedding. ;)

This next week has the potential to be crazy with driving up on Friday afternoon, picking up friends, stuffing six extra people in my parents' house, driving winding roads, going to the wedding, going to church, sending friends off, Memorial Day, hanging with Amos for a few days, watching the little kids for Mom and Dad, sending Amos off, missing Amos' birthday, going to a baby shower, and finally flying back down.

All in eight days.

Plus I need to tutor, mail letters, get shots, find my visa info, do laundry, collect recycling, clean out my car, pay my loans, clear pictures from my camera, eat, sleep, hang with Amos, etc.

Life. It's busy.

I leave for India in about seven weeks! It's crazy! I'm pretty excited!

I have almost all of my support, so that's pretty great. We have another team meeting tomorrow, and last Sunday we had a team+family/significant other dinner. It was really fun. We got to talk to each other, get to know each other better, and have some great Indian food. I think I'm going to go to the little Indian grocery store nearby soon to see if they have some stuff to make chicken tikka masala. It was really good! :)

Redirection

I'm working on a post about forgiveness, but it's taking a while.

Instead of forcing that subject right now, I thought I'd ask a question.

If someone were to follow you around for a week, what patterns would they see? This is not a post to make you feel bad about doing fun things, but think about it.

What would they see?

I know for me, they would see a lot of Facebooking (seriously, the thing is addictive). However, I'm also happy to say that the mystery person would see other patterns, such as reading my Bible.

Anyway, tomorrow is my "little" brother's birthday. Little as in 21 years old little. ;)

May is birthday month! Two sisters (Lexi and Brenda), one brother (Garret), one sister-in-law (Kaydee), one grandmother (Joyce), one cousin (Lydia), and many friends (Luke, Beth, Heather, etc.) share this nice little month.

Happy birthday, Karat! I hope it's great and not too crazy.

Compilation

I am running out of interesting titles for my blog posts. Hmmmmm...

Well, I suppose I'll tell you about tires, since that is what you wanted to know about. Or what a few of you wanted to know about. I have readers from all over the place (or so my handy-dandy little map tells me), yet people rarely comment. Oh well. I'll just keep talking to myself, and I guess you can listen in on the conversation.

Tires.

I thought that my tire had a really slow leak, but it turns out that the tread was so low that WalMart couldn't repair it! They also said that a second tire had even lower tread! So I spent about $150.00 and got two new tires. :P I will eventually have to replace the other tires, but I think I'll hold off on that for a little while.

Cookies.

I CAN MAKE COOKIES!!!! In case you don't know, I don't have a lot of luck with cookies. (In fact, now that I think of it, I'm going to add a "cookie" label to my posts.) However, on Sunday, Amos and I went over to his coworker's house for dinner. David's wife Marleah had been in the hospital for a while, so we got dinner together and took it down to them. We had a great time hanging out with David, Marleah, their little girl Leayla, and another coworker Adam. We played the weird but hilarious game known as Snorta!, had dinner, talked, laughed, and watched the new "Sherlock Holmes." It was fun!

Back to the cookies. David and Marleah are both allergic to gluten, so I thought that I would make cookies for dessert. As soon as I thought of that, though, I started laughing. Jennica, making cookies?! Again?! My cookies usually end up in either crunchy or gooey piles on the counter, not exactly what you want to take to guests. However, Mom has this recipe for peanut butter cookies that is wheat-free! She made them for my cousin who is allergic to wheat. They are really easy!

1 cup peanut butter (don't use the natural kind...it doesn't taste as good)

1 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool the whole pan on a wire rack for 5 minutes before removing.

They are very sweet but very good. And I now know that I can make at least one kind of cookie. :)
